50 mg WHITHAFERIN A in one capsule with MAXIMIZED ABSORPTION

  • UNIQUE: Each capsule contains 50 mg WHITHAFERIN A
  • MAXIMIZED ABSORPTION: To maximize absorption, we have formulated a unique pro liposomal blend that includes phospholipids from organic sunflower lecithin and chitosan, to promote the formation of neutrally charged liposomes (LongLifeLipoTech®).
  • NO UNPLEASANT TASTE: Our pro liposomal formula is made in dry powder form so that we can insert it into a capsule. In this way, we avoid the often challenging taste of regular liquid liposomal products.
  • NO ADDITIVES: Our capsules contain only pure ingredients, with no fillers, preservatives or other non-active substances.
  • LONG LASTING: In contrast to regular liquid liposomal solutions, our dry powder pro liposomal capsules have a longer shelf life once the Jar is opened, and are easily transported (for example, on vacation).

ABOUT WHITHAFERIN A

Withaferin A is a naturally occurring compound isolated from Withania somnifera (commonly known as ashwagandha, Indian ginseng, or winter cherry), a plant with a long history of traditional use. Withaferin A belongs to a group of steroidal lactones known as withanolides and has attracted attention in scientific literature for its structural complexity and interactions observed in biological research settings.

Experimental studies have examined the molecular characteristics of Withaferin A using in vitro and in vivo models. These investigations focus on its behavior within cellular systems, including its influence on signaling molecules, protein expression, and intracellular architecture. The following points summarize key themes explored in the scientific literature to date:

Transcriptional Pathways and Molecular Targets: Investigations have focused on transcriptional regulators such as NF-κB and STAT3, along with related molecular components like IL-6 and VEGF. These studies aim to understand the compound’s molecular interactions and downstream regulatory patterns in experimental systems.

Structural Biology and Protein Binding: Withaferin A has been studied for its binding interactions with structural proteins including vimentin and Annexin II, providing insights into its role in modulating cytoskeletal organization at a cellular level.

Metabolic Enzyme Expression: Research has examined potential associations between Withaferin A and glucose-related enzymes such as GLUT1, HK2, and PKM2. These exploratory studies have included investigations into metabolic transcription factors like c-Myc.

Intracellular Protein Regulation: Several studies have explored Withaferin A’s relationship with proteasomal components, including the 20S proteasome subunit β5, and its potential to influence proteostasis-related pathways, particularly in mechanistic cellular models.

Redox-Responsive Systems: The compound has been analyzed in the context of oxidative balance, including studies focusing on enzymes like thioredoxin reductase 1 (TrxR1), which are involved in cellular redox regulation.

Cellular Plasticity and EMT: The process of epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT), which reflects changes in cell structure and motility, has been studied in relation to Withaferin A exposure under laboratory conditions.

Neuronal Morphology Studies: Experimental neurobiology literature has explored Withaferin A’s influence on cell models that examine axonal dynamics, dendritic architecture, and synaptic structure, contributing to a better understanding of its potential relevance in neuronal environments.

Note: All the points listed above are related to preclinical studies. No health effects in humans have been established or authorized by EFSA or FDA in relation to Withaferin A.

Whithaferin A formulated in an outstanding absorption promoting formula

While the academic research demonstrate Withaferin A is a relevant natural compound, the major drawback when it comes to its application is related to the limited absorption and significant first-pass metabolism. In a mouse pharmacokinetic study, oral Withaferin A had only ~1.8% bioavailability relative to intravenous dosing.

Enhancing the absorption of certain natural compounds with limited bioavailability has been the focus of increasing scientific interest. Among various formulation strategies, phospholipid-based delivery systems – including liposomes and pro-liposomes – have been studied for their capacity to improve the solubility and dispersion of lipophilic compounds in aqueous environments.

Liposomes are nanoscale vesicles composed of phospholipid bilayers, structurally similar to cellular membranes. Their physicochemical properties allow them to form colloidal dispersions that are suitable for incorporation into complex formulations. However, conventional liposomes often carry a net electrical charge, which may affect their colloidal stability and interaction with biological systems. Charged liposomes can be subject to faster clearance mechanisms (e.g., phagocytosis) in biological environments.

To address these formulation challenges, neutralizing surface charge has been proposed as a strategy to improve liposomal dispersion and reduce interactions with clearance pathways. One such approach includes the use of chitosan, a polysaccharide known to interact with phospholipid head groups and reduce surface charge. The resulting complexes can exhibit improved physical stability and compatibility in model systems.

Our proprietary technology, LongLifeLipoTech®, incorporates such advanced delivery concept. Withaferin A is formulated using LongLifeLipoTech®, a pro-liposomal system that combines a unique blend of phospholipids and chitosan to facilitate the formation of neutrally charged liposomes. This specialized blend is designed with the goal to enhance biocompatibility, to improve absorption and prolonged systemic circulation compared to traditional phospholipid-only formulations.

By leveraging this innovative platform, LongLifeLipoTech® supports more efficient delivery of Withaferin A and other active ingredients – optimizing their potential to reach diverse tissues throughout the body.
