What is DIM?
3,3′-Diindolylmethane — known as DIM — is a naturally occurring compound formed during the digestion of cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, kale and cabbage. When these vegetables are chewed and digested, a natural substance called glucobrassicin is broken down, and DIM is one of the key compounds produced in this process.
DIM is not found directly in food — it is created naturally by your body as part of normal digestion, making it a truly endogenous compound with deep roots in everyday nutrition.
A Well-Researched Nutritional Compound
DIM has attracted significant scientific interest and is among the more extensively studied compounds derived from cruciferous vegetables. It appears in a wide body of peer-reviewed literature exploring its biochemical characteristics, including its interactions with phase I and phase II metabolic pathways, cytochrome P450 enzymatic systems, and aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) signaling — a well-characterized area of nutritional biochemistry.
Its presence across hundreds of published studies reflects the growing scientific interest in indole-based compounds and their role in advanced nutritional research.

Why Formulation Matters: DIM Pro Liposomal
DIM is a lipophilic compound – meaning it dissolves in fats rather than water. This is a common characteristic of many bioactive nutritional compounds, and it presents a real bioavailability challenge: how do you support the dispersion of a fat-soluble compound within an aqueous environment after ingestion?
To address this, DIM Pro Liposomal is produced using a phospholipid-based pro-liposomal delivery system (LongLifeLipoTech®). This system incorporates sunflower lecithin-derived phospholipids and vegan chitosan, designed to support improved dispersion characteristics and formulation stability within aqueous environments.
Liposomes are nanoscale vesicular structures composed of phospholipid bilayers, structurally comparable to biological membranes. Due to their amphiphilic nature, phospholipids can self-assemble into colloidal systems suitable for incorporation into complex nutritional formulations.
However, conventional liposomal systems may exhibit surface charge characteristics that influence their physical stability within dispersion systems.
To address these formulation considerations, LongLifeLipoTech® incorporates a proprietary phospholipid matrix combined with vegan chitosan. Chitosan interacts with phospholipid head groups, supporting modulation of surface characteristics and promoting improved colloidal stability within the formulation matrix.
DIM Pro Liposomal is formulated using this advanced pro-liposomal system, designed to support optimized dispersion characteristics and structural integrity within aqueous environments.
This delivery approach reflects our commitment to formulation precision, biocompatible design, and advanced nutritional science.
